Who am I? I’m not sure, still very much in development I hope. I spent my years in Higher Education bent over a drawing board drawing I-beams and calculating the characteristics of soil only to be tempted away from Civil Engineering by the shiny veneer of corporate life. I managed three years before yielding to my yearning to do something more personal and honest to myself. I left and started an interior design and create business which fed my artistic and engineering appetite until, simply put, I became ill and had to stop.
I love to create beautiful, functional objects and have done for most of my life in one form or another. My inspiration comes from many sources but those I look to most are nature and architecture. I live just south of Birmingham in the West Midlands with my partner Kate. The location gives me easy access to the countryside and some of the best architecture in Britain. Wood has always been present in my work. The endless variances of character require a different treatment each time meaning my job is always exciting and challenging.

Using her sewing machine as a pencil and fabric as the paint I have created quirky and unique designs. All my designs are created using found and new materials. Some of the textiles originate from the 1970's and 80's, whilst some of the haberdashery is much earlier. The eclectic mix of contemporary and vintage materials gives my designs a fresh and unique appearance.
